*waves hello*
Hi everyone! This is my first post over here at dreamwidth. And it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!
First off, thanks to roguegambit for the invite! I'm going to actually use this, I promise. I never really got into LJ, but I see that I already have several friends here and I'm sure they'll help me along when I can't figure things out. : )
Anyway, going to surf the site and figure out all the fun things I can do over here. This is going to be a blast!

Sci-fi is the best. Cliff keeps telling me that I've crossed over into pure geekdom by reading Sci-Fi. Bradbury: Illustrated Man ALL the way. The, Martian Chronicles, Something Wicked This Way Comes and everything else. Read Illustrated Man before you read any of the others.
Asimov is fantastic. I think my day would be with Douglas Adams. Have you tried half.com for Asimov's books? That's where I get a lot of my books. I got Cliff an out-of-print 3 book series by Piers Anthony for like $8.
I haven't been been keeping up with the group :( Bad Rogue. I'll have to go back and see if anything has been posted. Little Miss Mary was transgender but Harry ended up Pregnant. I honestly don't think I've read a book where he was BORN as a girl. That's a little far-fetched even for me.
I had to read The Giver in my undergrad classes and my entire class LOVED it. I was the oddball out. I'm used to it :) I'll check out The Shadow of the Other and Seven Steps to Heaven. I haven't even had time to check out the Snarry-a-thon fics. The Plant is pretty good too? Thanks for the recs.

Okay, will keep that in mind. *marks down book title* And I don't think I've heard you mention Cliff before. *interested look* ^^
*nods* Yes, Asimov is epic. And, no, never heard of this site- *clickies link and bookmarks it* Okay just saw a book on there for 75 cents... I think this will become my new best friend. xD!!! Thanks so much for the link!!
Hahaha. See if anything's been posted? A TON of stuff has been posted, the challenges are blowing up like crazy. We've calmed down in the last day or so but now Lucie has a cute series running. It's been fun- come back to us! xD
Never read ones where Harry starts out as a girl? Well I don't think I've ever FINSISHED one, but I've seen lots. xD They're rarely good, so you're not missing much.
Yeah, those three are the only ones I've read but they were great, truly. Very emotional and well done. I was cracking up ALL THE WAY THROUGH "The Plant". It was pretty funny. xD I also know who wrote all three of them. xD And I assure you they'd appreciate comments!!

I haven't mentioned Cliff before? Odd. Ohh, I know. I think you guys know him as dumbass, asshole, hubby, etc.
You've NEVER heard of half.com? Honey honey honey. That's where I get most of my used books. Text books: go to bigwords.com and use them. It's a search engine and it give you the cheapest places online to purchase books.
I really need to get back to the group. *sigh* I've been away for SOOO long that it's hard to get back into it. I'm trying though. BTW, do you have a link to the snarry-a-thon? Hmmm am I right in thinking a certain person has written all three stories? Mental note to go there now.
I've NEVER read a fiction where Harry started out as a girl. I read cross-dressing, trans-gender, d/s, bdsm, etc. I just can't bring myself to read "Harry is a girl". bleh It squiggs me out.

Hahaha. Okay. *puts Cliff's name to face in head* xDD Gotcha!
I don't really have money to buy books, so I don't need to shop ebay or amazon or anything. I have a little under $200 to buy things I want for the next two and a half, unless I break down and get a job while I'm in accelerated school, meaning I learn less and take less classes at a time and extend my time in school, increasing student loans. xD I'll show the site to my mom though, and maybe I'll get more books for birthday/Christmas if they're cheaper. xD And, awesome about the textbooks. I don't know if they'll have programming books but it's worth looking into. I appreciate that. Anything that saves money makes my parents happier with me. : )
Advice for the group- delete all the emails you have from us and start from scratch. That's what I did a few weeks ago. The drabbles are all in the files section so you won't miss out on them, and then you can keep up from here. : )
And no- three different people wrote them. I'm just awesome and know awesome people. xD
Well, you're lucky. Because little girl!Harry fiction is good. xD Not missing much, really!!
